Pupils Art Exhibition

The Pupil Art Exhibition was held today in the hall. All the pictures were brilliant! If you could not make the exhibition today you still have the chance to buy your child's picture. The pictures will remain in school all next week, so if the come to the office Mrs Rees or Mrs Franklin will help you out.

  1. It was good - hope the school / PTA raised some funds from this. The pictures "disappeared" from the gallery fairly rapidly and pity they could not be left there longer for all to see - still a good and nice idea - how can you NOT buy them???

Well done TO ALL on sports day as well - just a pity I missed the teachers combined three legged, egg on spoon, sack on head obstacle course race - maybe next year.....

  2. Lovely exhibition and great idea too.....

What sort of percentage do u get from the sales?? I suspect you may well have done rather well in fundraising there!!

  3. One small point about the timing of the artwork exhibition - a great idea for fundraising but a little unfair on those could not really afford it. If you had more than one child at the school that would have been a lot to pay out considering the other things going on to pay for at this time such as the summer fete, end of term party, school trips, school photos as well as buying new school uniform. Perhaps a less expensive time of year could be chosen next year?

  4. I can see the point being made by comment above (02/07) but not sure when is a less expensive time of year - there seems to be something to spend on all year round these days?

Perhaps the school can tell us however what has happened to all the "artwork" not sold or indeed whether the children are allowed (or indeed entitled) to retain their own artwork? How about an option to purchase "unframed" artwork?

  5. Thanks for the comments - both events were wonderful and the children great. We can aim for a teacher race next year!! The art exhibition does raise some money for the school and I do appreciate the costs at the moment - I have ideas for September. The organisers advise us to hold an exhibition every two years and I do think the Spring would be best - maybe just in time for Mothers Day. The art not bought is returned to the school minus the frame and I will give details of how to get it in a newsletter and blog at the end of the week.

    Thanks for the comments.

  6. I totally agree with the comments above, it's all very nice to have these reminders of our childrens time in school but this last term
has been really expensive - I've just worked out that I have written cheques totalling over £150 pounds in the last few weeks, party and summer fete not included and new uniforms for next term still to buy. The photographs were lovely but far more expensive than in past years - I know we as parents are under no obligation to buy the pictures but nobody wants their child to feel different - were the group photos really necessary on top of single and brother/sister shots??
