Infant Ball Skills Club

I am sorry but due to an urgent meeting arranged today, I am not able to run Ball Skills on Thursday as planned. This was due to be the last one this term so I am very disappointed. Can I say well done to all of the children who have attended this year as they have made so much progress and we have all enjoyed the sessions. The club will be back in September for all Yr1 and Yr2 pupils. Thank you Mr. Roberts

Sports Day

Due to the weather and the forecast for tonight, I have taken the decision to cancel Sports Day tomorrow. The field is very wet and is not going to get any better. The only alternative day that is free is next Friday, 6th July. As this is also the day of the Year 6 prom, we will hold the races for Yr1 - Yr6 in the morning from 9.30am and the Nursery/Reception events will be in the afternoon from 1.30pm. This will allow the Yr6 pupils time to recover before their Prom in the evening and will also enable their parents to watch their last Sports Day and prepare the Community Centre in the afternoon. If weather stops us from holding the event on this date, then I am afraid that we will have to postpone Sports Day for this year so fingers crossed for good weather next week. Many thanks, Mr. Roberts

SPORTS DAY _ CANCELLED

Sports day for Wed 27th June is cancelled. New date Friday 6th July!

Powershot

The 'goody bags' have arrived today for those children who raised £30 or more sponsorship. These prizes will be given out next week. Sorry for the delay. Many thanks to everyone who sent in sponsorship money - no matter how much it all counts and most importantly the children really enjoyed the event! Thank you again for your support.

Pink to think......

Diolch yn fawr everybody for taking part in our "Pink to think" day on Wednesday. Mr Phil Rickard from "PONT" the organisation linking RCT with Mbale came to talk to us about his recent Mbale visit - and brought us news from our friends at Sikusi Primary School. A massive £390 was raised to launch our "Electricity for Sikusi" appeal. Well done all! It really is a worthy cause. Diolch yn FAWR!!! Mrs Decaro and the Friends of Sikusi Committee

School Security

I understand from Facebook entries that there is concern about a person in the bushes near to the school. I spoke to a parent on Thursday about an incident after school the night before at about 6pm where a person was seen at the end of the drive next to the school. The police were informed and i spoke to them on Thursday when they promised to increase patrols after school. As this was an isolated report it was felt best not to create the kind of panic that has been caused now by making this known to the children. The children have also been scaring each other in school about voices from the drains and elsewhere! This has added to the story, I feel. No sighting of anyone has taken place during school time and Mr. Hole has not reported anyone near the school since Wednesday. I was at school until 7pm on Thursday and again saw no evidence of anybody either. I can assure all parents that their children are perfectly safe in school and would only advise that if you are concerned about after school times, you keep your children near to the house where you can supervise them. If I thought that there was any risk to any child in school, I would inform you straight away as I have in the past with reports of cars etc. I hope that this puts minds at rest and I would suggest that the report on Wednesday evening is dealt with by the police in the correct way. I will continue to follow the police advice. Thank you for your concern. Mr. Roberts
